This croquet club needed pristine lawns for optimal game play, to achieve this the greenkeeper was having to hand water with a manual system that was using lots of water and taking too much time.

The project objectives

-       A healthy lawn to improve play

-       Time saving solution cutting back on manual watering

-       Efficient automated water system that can be accessed remotely

-       Rainwater harvesting to save on water consumption

Installation

The installation of this job was discreet and efficient, we used the ditch witch machine which allowed us to install pipe work into the ground in a seamless way, not leaving open trenches. The lawn was able to be used the same day for play.

We also installed a two 1000 litre tanks that allowed the croquet club to rainwater harvest, storing rainwater to utilise when watering the lawn, this tank also allows for automatic fill from mains water. This bespoke system was designed and created by AJ Irrigation and consisted of pop-up sprinklers to allow for maximum coverage of lawn.

App controlled system

This system can be accessed remotely and allows all who have access to see in real time what is being water without being on site, the app also comes with a built-in weather system automatically switching off the system if rain is predicted.

Rainwater harvesting

Rainwater harvesting is not only a eco-friendly approach it’s also cost saving. Rainwater is typically free of chemicals making it the perfection solution to a healthy lawn.

Discreet installation

Using the Ditch witch allowed for play to be undisturbed and the lawn to be used the same day as installation, with no open trenches.

Pop-up Sprinklers

This irrigation system allowed for maximum water coverage without wasting water.

Why having good irrigation matters

Lawn health – with a good water system the lawn retained water allowing the lawn to thrive, the pop-up sprinklers cover the whole lawn not allowing there to be patches and improving play.
